Beautiful Wood Furniture, Responsible Manufacturing

It is our policy to take extra steps to ensure that we are a responsible corporate citizen in our relationship with the environment.  AB&D Furniture has long manufactured to green standards before it became fashionable, because it was the right thing to do.

Our panel products are all CARB 2 compliant, the plastic laminates, solid surface panels

and edge banding (ABS and PVC) are Green Guard Certified.

Our solid wood comes from Responsibly Managed forests; we offer Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified lumber when requested.  We prefer to work with northern grown American hardwoods such as red and white oak, ash, hard maple, walnut and cherry.

All of our glues are water based and low VOC also helping with the indoor air quality.

Our stains are custom mixed per job, saving on waste and also using HAPs compliant thinners.  All of our sealers and lacquers are water based, virtually eliminating their environmental impact.  The finishing waste is recycled and processed according to Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) standards.

We also recycle all wood dust waste which is captured by our dust collection system sustaining a good indoor air quality during production.

We believe that avoiding ocean transportation and the huge environmental impact that has, is also better for the environment.  We encourage buying American made products.
